Help us celebrate Janet (Jan)! Please share your stories and photos, and invite others who remember Janet (Jan).
Janet Beth Watson (Jan) Tatum, of Nashville, was born in Harriman, Tennessee on May 28, 1951 to the late Charles Allan Watson and Jayne Strunk Watson and she died suddenly on March 24, 2021. Jan is survived by her best friend and beloved husband of 44 years, I. Dyke Tatum, her only child, son, Justin D. Tatum (his family, Desiree, Brock and Baylee), her sisters, Ann Isham of Chattanooga, and Mary Lee Molinaro (Joseph), of Nashville. She attended Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee and then embarked on a successful banking career in Nashville. Jan retired as Vice-President of retail banking and regional manager of the metropolitan branches for Commerce Union Bank. Jan was a member of Brentwood Baptist Church. She was also a member of Old Natchez Country Club and one of its founding investors. Jan enjoyed travel with Dyke, whether abroad in Italy and France where Dyke would tease his three most feared words were "do you ship", or in Florida where they most recently returned from an idyllic stay. Glamorous Jan never missed an appointment with Earl at Trumps or with Lori, and we thank them for the years of friendship and pampering they provided. Jan will be sadly missed by her family and all whose lives she touched. A graveside service and burial shall be held at Roane Memorial Gardens, Highway 27, Rockwood, Tennessee on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 11:00 AM Eastern Standard Time, with dear friend, Pastor James Tidwell officiating. The family asks for charitable donations to please be donated to the Nashville Rescue Mission or to a charity of your choosing. Kyker Funeral Home of Harriman is serving the Tatum family. www.kykerfuneralhomes.com
