Janet (Jan) Lamaster Speck
Help us celebrate Janet (Jan)! Please share your stories and photos, and invite others who remember Janet (Jan).
Janet (Jan) Lamaster Speck has reunited with her husband and love of her life, Don, when she passed on July 21, 2022.
Jan grew up on a farm in Markes, Pennsylvania, but transplanted to Denver, Colorado for her first teaching job after college. As fate would have it, Don had moved to Denver that same week. Together they traveled the world. They loved cruising, listening to music, dancing, playing cards, but most of all spending time with their many friends. She was always planning something, a card game, a cruise, bible study or neighborhood dinner parties. A friend joked that heaven now has a new "social director" and they're not wrong!
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her parents, Jacob Russell and Mary Moats Lamaster; two sisters, Betty Kunhert and husband John; Margaret "Peggy" Harris and husband Chet; and brothers, Richard Lamaster and wife, Nancy and Donald Lamaster.
She is survived by children, Donna Hartman and husband, Roben; John and his wife, Sheila; sister-in-law, Pat Hodges and her family; niece, Sue Kunhert Beggs and husband, Jim; four grandchildren, Cody Kidd and wife, Kasie; Kristy Canella and husband, Matthew; Tyler Land and Lauren Beard and husband, Cutler; six grandchildren, Jesse and Adam Canella, Maylie, Katie, Ally and Claire Kidd; great neice, Greta Beggs and great nephew, James Beggs.
She will be greatly missed by her family and the many, many friends that Jan met on her journey back to the ones that passed before her and to her Lord and Savior.
A Celebration of Life honoring Jan's memory will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022 at 10:00 am at the Chapel in the Woods - Woodlands Church.
