Janet Courtright Graham went to her heavenly home on June 7, 2021. She was born in Lancaster on February 14, 1929 to the late Armond W. Courtright and Ina L. (Valentine) Courtright. Janet graduated from Lancaster High School in 1947 and Ohio University in 1951, where she met and married her husband of 72 years, Dr. William D. Graham. She received her Masters Degree from Ohio State University. Janet began her teaching career in Stoutsville, Ohio and taught in central Ohio before working for the Ohio State University Extension Service, the Pennsylvania State University Extension Service, then back to the Ohio State University Extension Service from which she retired. She received the Ohio Distinguished Service Award. During her long career she was active in the National, Ohio and Pennsylvania Cooperative Extension Services, National and Ohio Home Economics Association, Phi Delta Kappa Service, Epsilon Sigma Phi, Alpha Lambda Delta, Ohio Education Association, Delta Kappa Gamma, and American Association of University Women.
In Medina County, she was an active member of the Medina United Church of Christ Congregational Church, Loyal Circle of King's Daughters, the Ohio and Medina County Public Employee Retirees and the Ohio State University Extension Retirees.
Janet and William enjoyed traveling with friends to most European counties, as well as cruising to Alaska, Hawaii, and the Caribbean Islands.
Janet is survived by her husband, Dr. William Graham; nephew, Jon (Tamara) Solt; cousins, many good friends and four-legged companion, Belle.
She was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Cecil Tolley, and favorite aunt, Marcine Grigsby.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Sheridan Funeral Home. Friends may visit from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fairhope Hospice, 282 Sells Rd. Lancaster, OH 43130
