Janet Kay Scott Gabler received her angel wings on December 28, 2023. Janet was born July 5 ,1936 in Jackson Michigan to Marion L Scott and Ira D Scott . Jan had one sister Nancy Scott Warnock who preceded her in death. Her late husband Martin B Gabler Jr also preceded her in death. Jan graduated from Michigan State University with a BA in social work and assisted with adoption placement. Jan had a kind heart and a very strong faith in God. She was known for her volunteer work and acts of service in her community . She was always willing to help others in need and lend a helping hand.
Jan was a long term resident in Holmes Beach , Florida where she enjoyed countless walks on the white sand beaches and swimming in the salt water. She was a loving, devoted mother and is survived by daughters Brita Gabler Cumberton (Kent Cumberton, husband) + two grandchildren Kara Cumberton and Kyle Cumberton in TN. Her youngest daughter Jill Gabler Kountz (husband Paul Kountz Jr) reside in Greenville, SC.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Hearth Hospice Nurse Rachel Mattson along with social worker Karley Moon and the wonderful staff at ClaireBridge in Cleveland TN for 10 years of loving care. A private family celebration of life will take place in the Spring. Donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association alz.org or the charity of your choice.
