Janet Sue Cheney
Beloved Sister
Janet Cheney was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on February 9, 1942 to Albert and Gertrude Cheney. Janet had an older brother Bob who she loved very much, and they were close throughout their lives. When Janet was still a small girl, her father left the family, and Gertrude ultimately divorced Albert. In 1954 when Janet was 12, Gertrude met Sylvester Fulmer and they married. Gertrude and Sylvester had three other children, and Janet loved her siblings very much. Janet graduated from Norwood High School in 1960 and went to work as a Secretary at U.S. Playing Card. She later worked as an Administrative Assistant at the University of Cincinnati and at the Department of Nursing at Xavier University. When Janet's mother became ill in the late 1990s, Janet left her job to care for her mother who died in 1999. Janet was devastated by the loss of her mother, and it took years for her to fully recover, if she ever did. In March of 2017 Janet was diagnosed with Stage 4 ovarian cancer. She died just a little over two weeks later on April 15, 2017, after suffering a pulmonary embolism.
Janet Cheney was one of the kindest, most gentle, truly good human beings who ever walked the face of the earth. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Heaven has a new angel with her untimely passing.
