Janelle D. Bailey, 94, of Snellville, GA passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022. A native of Atlanta, she was born October 8, 1927 to Margaret Nix Donaldson and Thomas Jefferson Donaldson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Bailey; parents, Margaret Nix Donaldson and Thomas Jefferson Donaldson; brothers, Thomas J. Donaldson Jr. and Hal Walker Donaldson; sisters, Betty Donaldson Bentley and Susanne Donaldson Little. She is survived by three children, Donna B. Bailey of Loganville, daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Charles Kiker of Palmetto and son, Francis Bailey of Snellville; in addition to her children, she is survived by her grandson, Chuck Kiker of Palmetto; granddaughter and husband, Carrie B. Phillips and Andrew Phillips of Monroe and granddaughter, Katherine G. Bailey and great granddaughter, Lillian K. Phillips of Monroe.
Janelle was a graduate of Girls High School and the University System of Georgia Junior College. She retired as executive secretary of DeKalb County Voter Registration and Elections with twenty years’ service. She was a member of Zoar United Methodist Church for thirty nine years where she was active in Sunday school class, the Second Milers Senior Group and the Chat and Chew Ladies’ Group. She married Francis Bailey on Friday, October 1, 1948 and was happily married for fifty four years. Janelle was a loving and devoted wife, mother, Granny and sister.
The funeral service to celebrate the life of Janelle Bailey will be held on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at 1:30 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel, Snellville, GA. Burial will follow at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, Snellville, GA. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 4, 2022 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. If you prefer to make a memorial donation in lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider a donation to Zoar United Methodist Church, 3895 Zoar Church Road, Snellville, GA 30039 in memory of Janelle Bailey.
