Greenfield, MA- Jane B. Stetson, 91, of Hazelton Road in Rowe, MA, passed away peacefully Monday evening, April 4, 2022 at Charlene Manor Nursing Home in Greenfield following a period of declining health.
Mrs. Stetson was born at home in Brattleboro on October 2, 1930, the daughter of Alonzo and Mary (Lynch) Bovie. She was raised in Brattleboro, attending Saint Michael's Parochial School and was a graduate of Saint Michael's High School, Class of 1949. She had been a resident of Rowe since 1961.
She had been employed as a telephone operator for New England Telephone Company, working in the Brattleboro office. She retired from NYNEX in September of 1996 following 20 faithful years with the telephone company.
Mrs. Stetson was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of American and a former communicant of Saint Michael's Roman Catholic Church.
On October 1, 1955, at Saint Michael's Church, she was married to Wendell L. Stetson who predeceased her on May 8, 2015.
Survivors include: one son, Eric Stetson of Keene; two grandsons, Tristan Stetson of Sommerville, MA and Devin Stetson of Keene; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Graveside committal rites and burial will be conducted Friday, April 8th at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Michael's Parish Cemetery, Oak Grove Avenue in Brattleboro, with Fr. Henry Furman, Pastor, officiating. There are no calling hours.
