On July 15, 2022, loving wife and mother Jane Oehler passed away in Arlington, Texas. She is survived by husband Carl, son Paul, beloved grandchildren Patrick and Parker, and cousins. She was predeceased by son David (COVID-19), and parents William and Peggy. She and Carl were deeply in love with 59-year marriage after choosing Arlington as home in 1963. God peacefully freed her from Parkinson's Disease in her sleep.
Jane was adorable, fun, nurturing, and elegant. She buzzed through life with delight and enthusiasm of children. Jane always made others feel special for their accomplishments. She was a beloved teacher & counselor at several Arlington elementary schools. She graduated the University of Texas at Austin and master's degree from TCU. Jane was born in Tennessee. Her father was a brilliant Lieutenant Colonel who fought at Guadalcanal, and later Chief Engineer at H.B. Zachry. They moved often as he built electric power plants & dams throughout Tennessee, Lubbock, and Austin. Jane was an excellent concert pianist and happily made new friends. She loved family parties, racing sailboat regattas, her merlot Miata convertible, world travel to Scottish clan, her Schnauzer puppy Jake, and books galore.
Jane has been Regent to Daughters of the American Revolution, State President of Auxiliary to Texas Society of Professional Engineers, and member of Lamplighter Class at First United Methodist of Arlington, Arlington Woman's Club, Daughters of the American Colonists, Colonial Dames XVII Century, Jamestowne Society, La Rochelle Huguenot Society, Magna Charta Dames and Barons, United States Daughters of 1812, and Dames of the Court of Honor.
Visitation is 1-2pm on Friday July 29, 2022, followed by 2pm funeral services at the chapel of Moore Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington Texas 76012.
