Jane (Lowenthal) Garr
Garr, Jane L., 88, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023. She was the beloved wife of 64 years of the late Daniel M. Garr. Born in Rochester, NY, daughter of the late Esther and Eugene Lowenthal, Jr., she lived in Rochester, NY, until 1995 and then moved to Vero Beach, FL. Jane was a Wheaton College graduate and then graduated with her nursing degree from Monroe Community College. Jane continued on to become a Professor of Nursing at Monroe Community College for many years also creating and maintaining a nursing scholarship there for deserving students.
Loving mother of David Garr of Lakeworth, FL, Jeffrey Garr and his wife, Tania, of Naples, FL, Susan Giancola and her husband, Dave, of Fairport, NY, and Nancy Peixoto and her husband, Joseph, of North Dighton, MA, sister of Nancy Brooke of Hants, England. Loving grandmother of Megan O'Hare and her husband Sean, Jack Garr, Jackie Phan, David Giancola Jr. and his wife Shannon, Lauren Downing and her husband James, Christopher Peixoto and his wife Angela, and Julianne Lima and her husband Daniel. Cherished great grandmother of Colson, Benjamin, Ryder, and Evelyn.
In her spare time, Jane was an avid bridge player, enjoyed spending time with her friends, watching Jeopardy and reading.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2:00 pm in Vero Beach, FL, at Indian River Estates, 2250 Indian Creek Blvd. W., Vero Beach, FL 32966.
