Jane Chambers Kramer passed away on July 20, 2021 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born on March 27, 1937, to Lawrence and Mary Chambers in Lawton, OK. The family moved to Altus, OK in 1943 where Jane graduated from Altus High School in 1955. While in high school she was elected cheer leader and lettered in girl's basketball, Jane then attended Oklahoma University where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and graduated in 1960 with a degree in Elementary Education.
After graduation, Jane moved to Albuquerque, NM with several sorority sisters where she taught first grade for two years. During that time, she met an Air Force Lieutenant, Gerald Kramer, originally from San Antonio but serving on active duty in Albuquerque. Jane and Gerald became engaged and were married on August 4, 1961 in Altus, OK. They resided in Albuquerque until mid-1962 when Gerald was discharged from the Air Force and they moved to Dallas.
Jane taught second grade in Garland, TX for two years before her two daughters, Ann and Susan, were born. In 1980, she returned as a Special Ed aide in the Richardson ISD, retiring in 1997. Her years in retirement were spent traveling with friends to many destinations, both foreign and domestic.
Surviving family members include her husband Gerald, daughter Ann Demers, son-in-law Gary, granddaughter Sarah, daughter Susan Schweizer, grandsons, Will, Andrew, and Luke, brother Larry Chambers and sister-in-law Cheryl. She was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Mary Chambers, her sister Susan Adams, brother-in-law Ed, and son-in-law Paul Schweizer.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 27th at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church in Dallas.
