Jane Brown, age 89, of Sour Lake and Pinewood, Texas passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020. Jane was born October 1, 1931 in Laneville, Texas to Herbert and Vivian Singletary.
Jane grew up in East Texas and her family moved to Beaumont at an early age. She attended South Park High School and graduated in 1949. On September 17, 1949 she married Paul Brown. Jane was a homemaker who spent her time raising her two sons, Michael and Rick. They lived in South Park until moving to the Sour Lake/Pinewood area in 1973.
Jane was a person who loved spending time with others. She loved to play tennis and bridge and taking her morning walks. She cherished enjoying with a warm cup of coffee with family and friends. Jane was a woman of faith an attended St. Paul's UMC, later attending Wesley UMC. Jane's children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. The legacy of her kind and compassionate spirit will live on in them.
Jane is survived by son Michael Brown and wife Ginger of Friendswood, Texas; son Rick Brown and wife Sherry of Kingwood, Texas; brother Tony Singletary and wife Raynell of Richmond, Texas; grandson Derrick Brown and wife Emily of Friendswood, Texas; grandson Craig Brown and wife Laura of Friendswood, Texas; granddaughter Paula Brown of Houston, Texas; granddaughter Ryan Carreno and husband Johann of Carrollton, Texas; and granddaughter Katie Brown of San Antonio, Texas. She also leaves behind 5 great grandchildren to cherish her memory.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband Paul Brown; father Herbert Singletary and mother Vivian Singletary; brother Mark Singletary; and brother Jerry Singletary.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 4955 Pine, Beaumont, Texas 77703, followed by her Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM. Her Committal service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Halls of Serenity following her service.
