Jan Hardin
8/20/1929 - 2/19/2022
Jan Ferracci Hardin was born in Shaw, Mississippi to Italian immigrants, Tulio and Vera Ferracci. Jan is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Hardin and her son, Russell Hardin. Jan is survived by her son, Todd Hardin and two daughters, Hope Lavergne and Toni Mezey (Phil) as well as by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jan's pride in being an American motivated her to join the United States Navy. Until her death Jan had an abiding love of this country and its flag. While serving her country in the Navy, she met her husband, Frank Hardin, the love of her life. Jan and Frank were married for 49 years and lived most of their lives in Louisiana, where Jan worked as a fourth grade teacher for many years. Her final ten years were spent in San Antonio, TX, where she developed a deep appreciation of western culture. Jan was an active member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church and made many wonderful friends there. Jan loved God with all her heart, mind and soul. She was passionate about music, movies, dancing and making friends. She truly loved life!
Jan's family would like to offer special thanks to Love Duka. Love treated Jan as though she were her own mother and was Jan's constant companion for the last four years of her life. Thanks also to the staff at the Waterford on Huebner and the ladies of All Care. Finally, thanks to the compassionate staff of Vitas.
