Jamie Paul Cree, 52, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly in the comfort of his home Jan. 10, 2022. Jamie who was larger than life, was born in Lancaster, attended Lancaster City Schools and was a member of the wrestling and football teams, graduating from LHS in 1988. He was also a 1993 graduate of Ohio Northern University, where he earned a B.S. degree in Industrial Technologies, played football, and a became a proud member of the Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity. Jamie enjoyed keeping in touch with his Fraternity brothers and getting together with them. He had a life-long commitment to fitness and health, was a Patriot, and his hobbies included woodworking, barbequing, travel, politics, guns, and occasionally competing in a strong-man competition or two. Jamie especially enjoyed his large family, giving noogies to all the little and not-so-little cousins, nieces, and nephews, and hosting Thanksgiving dinners that always consisted of two turkeys to feed a crowd of nearly 40. Prior to his passing, Jamie was building his forever home with the love of his life, Dawn. He was a former process and manufacturing engineer, who worked with W.W. Grainger as an account manager the last five years.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 22 years, Dawn (Barton); Mother and Father, Karen (Shonk) and Myron Cree; Sisters Jodi (Bill) Young and Jeria (Skip) Harvey; Nieces and Nephews, Christian, Liska, Riley, Olivia, Delylah, Braxton, and Cain. Mother-in-law, Jodelle (Ron) West; Grandmother Kathleen West; Father-in-law, Larry (Susan) Barton; Brother-in-law, Zach Barton and Sister-in-Law, Jennifer Barton; Niece and Nephew Jace and Kenzley; Several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. Jamie is preceded in death by his Grandparents, Myron P. Cree and Nora (Isaccs) Cree, and Paul M. and Mary L. (Daubenmire) Shonk; and cousin, Harry Paul (HP) Sisco.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00PM on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at the Sheridan Funeral Home, Lancaster. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster.
