James Edmond Wiechman, 74, of Wichita Falls, made his rise to Glory on Friday, January 25, 2019.
A visitation will be Sunday, January 27, 2019, from 2 - 4 PM, at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 2 PM, Monday, January 28, 2019 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1417 11th Street, Wichita Falls, Texas. Interment will be in Bowman Cemetery under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home.
James was born on April 22, 1944 in Olney, Texas to Edmond T. and Anna Bearden Wiechman. He married Janice Parker on June 8, 1968 in Wichita Falls. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a retired Rural Mail Carrier. He received the "2018 Retired Rural Mail Carrier of the Year" award for the Texas Rural Mail Carriers' Association. He was also a member of the Red River Orchid Society, the Civitan Club and was involved in farming and ranching. James was an avid collector of Matchbox cars and trucks and die cast tractors. He was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where he served the Lord with gladness as a leader in various positions. James' faith in God was the cornerstone of his life. Matthew 25:23.
Survivors include his wife: Janice Wiechman of Wichita Falls; children: Jennifer Essary and husband Ted of Bowie, Julie Holley and husband Stephen of Plano, James Wiechman, Jr. of Wichita Falls, and Janna Buckmaster and husband Chad of Wichita Falls; grandchildren: Kimberly Clampitt and husband Danny, D.J. Taylor and wife Lauren, Bradon Holley and wife Alaina, Grant Holley, Carson Holley, Kyler Wiechman, Abigail Wiechman, Eli Buckmaster, Clara Buckmaster, and Shelby Buckmaster; and 2 great-grandchildren: Tristan Clampitt and Carter Clampitt.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1417 11th Street, Wichita Falls, Texas, 76301.
