James Dean Titus was born on April 26, 1952 in Siloam Springs, AR to Lamar and Nancy Titus. He passed peacefully at home with family on March 2, 2021. He worked hard his whole life. Besides his family, hunting and fishing in Texas and Colorado were among the things he loved most. The Lindley Clan and Richard "RD" Williams were some of his favorite hunting and fishing buddies. He also enjoyed poker, horse racing and drinking beer. Most especially, he loved his family and friends. He took great pleasure in having everyone over for a BBQ and telling his embellished stories. His breakfasts were notorious with the biggest pancakes you've ever seen and enough food to feed an army. He helped bind the family together over the many long years, we will miss him dearly. Depending upon when you met him in life, he was known as Buck, Slick, Uncle Buck, Hoghead, Big Chief, Jefe, and Big Pop. None of those names can fully encapsulate all that he was, nor all that he meant to his family. He is survived by his children, Cassidy Titus, Jessica Titus, Jacob Titus (m Kelly Titus), Shawnee Titus (fianc? James Evans) and his grand-daughter, Ruby Titus, along with his loving sisters Carol Harris (m Tom Harris), Donna Gore (m Michael Harris), and Jo Anne Nelson (m Mark Nelson) with scores of beloved nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Jaynes Memorial Chapel in Duncanville with interment to follow at the Red Oak Cemetery. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the funeral service.
