James Douglas Storry passed away suddenly on June 27, 2021. Born in Warren, Ohio on May 8, 1947, to parents Kenneth Storry and Ruby Longman. He grew up in Warren and graduated from Warren Harding High School. He graduated from Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music and obtained a Masters' Degree in Music Education from Kent State University. He was a member of Pi Lambda Phi Fraternity and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Jim was an active member of the American Guild of Organists, Cleveland and Akron chapters. Jim taught music in the Mentor and Nordonia Hills School Systems. He was also organist and/or music director at several churches, including Ridgewood United Methodist Church in Parma, Ohio, The Church in Aurora, United Methodist Church in Macedonia, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (associate organist) and Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Canton. He was a member of the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus for fifty years. Jim is survived by his wife, Sidney (Chupick), step children, Kevin Pavlish (wife Carlota), Louise Kinford (husband Paul), Jamie Pavlish (wife Tanya) and Arnie Pavlish and step grandchildren, Taylor Stone, Sarah Stone, Ryan Stone and Samantha Pavlish. All are asked to gather at the The Church in Aurora - 146 S. Chillicothe Rd. (OH RT 306), Aurora, OH on Tuesday, July 6, 2020 at 10 a.m. for a celebration of Jim's life. Interment Northfield-Macedonia Cemetery.
