James A. Southwick, 79, formerly of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away February 11, 2021 at Methodist University Hospital, Memphis, TN. He was born February 18, 1941, in Painesville, Ohio, the son of Donald E. and Nellie (Kampf) Southwick, and had been a resident of Brighton, TN for 21 years. He was a 1959 graduate of West Geauga High School, Chesterland, Ohio. On August 18, 1967, he married the love of his life, Ruth Williams, and together they shared 53 wonderful years. He worked at API Instruments Company in Chesterland, Ohio, Warner & Swasey Company in Cleveland, Ohio, and the last 21 years at Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare in Memphis, TN. A member of Crossroads Community Church of the Nazarene in Munford, TN, he had served as church treasurer and enjoyed serving the Lord in various church capacities. His survivors include his wife, Ruth, one daughter, Elizabeth (Rev. David) Smith of Lenoir City, TN, two grandsons, Jonathan Smith and Andrew Smith, one sister, Donna (Fred) Banfield of Chesterland, Ohio, two nieces, Kathy (Don) Sample, and Becky Banfield of Ohio, a great niece, Alyssa Jackett of Ohio, and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Crossroads Community Church of the Nazarene, Munford, TN. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16th at Lakeview Cemetery in Lenoir City, TN.
