Shaw, James Mack, 83, on March 18th, 2021, former Xenia resident and business owner. The son of Gilbert L. Shaw and Almedia V. Shaw nee Reece, Jim was born in Hart County, Ky on February 12th, 1938. Jim met and married his first love, Stella Louise Moon, in Bowersville, Ohio, in June of 1957, and eventually settling in Xenia, where they raised their three children. They retired first to Plano, Texas, and later Cumming, Ga., where Stella currently resides. He also is survived by his son, Jeffrey (Vicki) Shaw, daughters, Gail (Pat) Starkweather, and Carla (Juan) Melesi, grandchildren, Sean Starkweather, Joshua (Kristy) Shaw, Daniel Gemzer, Jacqueline (Alex) Atayev, Erika (Jay) Gemzer, Zachary (Kasey) Shaw, Alexander (Karen) Shaw, Michael Starkweather, Benjamin (Erin) Shaw, Reece (Devin) Shaw, and great-grandchildren, Vladimir, Carter, Matilda, Logan, Franklin, Gloriana, and Theodore. Jim, the first-born son, was preceded in death by his parents, younger brothers, Bernice, Troy, and Darrell, and daughter-in-law Elizabeth Shaw nee Adkins.
Jim loved his family and befriended many with his salesman personality. He enjoyed woodworking and later ceramics. Jim leaves behind many friends and family who could appreciate his quirky humor and love for cooking and hosting get-togethers. A memorial gathering later this summer for friends and family is planned.
