A celebration of the life of James Robert See will be 10 a.m. Monday, September 20th at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Levelland, TX. The mass will be celebrated by Fr. Jonathan Phillips.

James See, 82, of Melrose, NM passed away on September 15, 2021 surrounded by family.
James was born September 9, 1939 in North East, PA to Clayton and Mary See. He grew up in Cleveland, OH and attended Benedictine High School where he was part of the football team that won the 1957 state championship. James then went to Pratt Junior College in Kansas where he won JUCO All American and met Ruth Ann Himes. They married on May 24, 1960. He then went on to Bethany College in Lindsburg, KS. James and Ruth were married 61 years and had 4 living children. He earned a Master's Degree of Education from Akron University and was an educator for 45 years. He was honored in 1998 as New Mexico Educator of the Year while he was teaching at Gadsden Middle School in Anthony, NM. James loved the kids and all the people he worked with. He brought joy to the room with his jokes, "magic tricks," and piano playing. His famous line was, "Good, better, best - never let it rest - until your good becomes better and your better becomes best." He retired in 2005. James and Ruth moved to Melrose, NM in 2011.
Loved ones include his wife Ruth See; children Patricia (Rick), James (Linda), Joseph (Susanne), and Clayton (Cathy); siblings Jean (Muggs), Chuck, and John (Anna); 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents Clayton and Mary See, siblings Mary Theresa, Clayton, Marge, and baby Rose.
