Jim leaves behind his broken-hearted family, his wife of 56 years, Susan Smith Pinero, beloved daughters Jill Pinero Northcutt and Jennifer Pinero as well as his much loved grandchildren Austin Northcutt and Alyssa Northcutt Barrett. He is mourned by his cherished goddaughter Ardyce Doty Brenner. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.Jim was loved for his incredible sense of humor and his unending kindness by all who knew him from all walks of life, from his earliest years in Houston, high school and college days, to his years as the owner of Hyden's Restaurant in The Woodlands. Perhaps his greatest business success was as the owner of Uncle Julio's Restaurants which began as a single restaurant in Dallas and grew to 13 restaurants in multiple states before he retired from the business. Jim was a deeply religious man and was humbled to be asked by Father Milad Yaghi to serve as the first subdeacon at Our Lady of The Cedars Maronite Catholic Church in Houston. He enjoyed his church family more than anyone could imagine. He and Susan were accompanied by their family and priests to celebrate their renewal of marriage vows at the site of St. Peter's Tomb at The Vatican on their 50th wedding anniversary.
