The colorful life of James David Pefferly (74) was cut short by COVID on 01/20/2021. Dave, as he was known to friends and family, was a son of Arkansas (born to Edgar and Mildred Pefferly) who grew up in California and Oregon. He married his high school sweetheart and had three sons. While working for Chevrolet he moved to the Metro Atlanta area in the early 1980's. Dave enjoyed the outdoors with family and friends by camping, fishing, hunting and beach combing. He also loved to drive fast and enjoyed telling of his experiences on the race track. While his frame stood at about 5'6", his personality stood about 7 feet tall. A dynamic personality, Dave could easily command the attention of a roomful of people with his voice while making each person feel that he was speaking solely to them. Dave was an encouraging presence in the lives of everyone he met. He taught his sons loving and practical lessons they will share for the rest of their lives. In an age of divorce, Dave was a loving and kind spouse of 53 years who never went to bed angry.
Dave leaves behind his adoring wife Marilyn, his loving sons Jim (Jennifer), Mike (Laura), and Brian (Lara) as well as the light of his later years - grandchildren Noah, Kate and Wyatt.
Due to COVID conditions, the family will observe a private ceremony. At a later time, a public celebration of life will be held.
