James Henry Peavy, 91, of Cuthbert, GA passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024, in the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, in the Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery near Shellman with Rev. David Wolfe and Rev Paul Buckheister officiating.
Mr. Peavy was born on May 21, 1933, in Cuthbert, GA the son of the late Whit Paul Peavy and the late Anna Ree Law Peavy. He was a graduate of Shellman High School, a member of Shellman Methodist Church and a retired Farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Louise Paul Peavy and 2 brothers, Lamar Peavy and Melvin Peavy.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Paula Roberts of Cuthbert and Karen Peavy of Heber City, UT, a son, James Raymond Peavy of Cuthbert, 5 grandchildren, Shaun (Danielle) Roberts, Anna Philmon, Christopher Peavy, Nicholas (Elliott) Peavy and Abby (Ben) Sparks and 6 great grandchildren, Kaytlin, Gage, Addison, Andrew, Whitney, and Olivia.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Shellman Methodist Church in care of Eva Ruth Rigsby P O. Box 85 Shellman, GA 39886.
