James R. Parrett of Colora, MD, died on December 10, 2024 at the age of 83.
James was preceded in death by his parents: Elmer and Elizabeth (Laird) Parrett and 12 siblings.
Mr. Parrett was a veteran of the US Army, honorably discharged as an SP4 on 31 January, 1965 and was a member of Lion's Club.
Throughout his life, he exemplified a strong work ethic, most notably owning and operating Parrett's Texaco in Elkton, MD and owner of JP Contractors. He continued to work in construction and maintenance until his retirement at age 80. He enjoyed woodworking, riding his John Deere.
James is survived by his devoted wife: Shonie Parrett; his sons: James (Caroline), Richard, Randall (Ida), and Jason (Judi) Parrett; and his beloved grandchildren: Lindsay, Adam, Noah, Geoffrey, Carlee Parrett; and many nieces and nephews.
In gratitude for the care he received, the family extends special thanks to Betty (Scrubby) Smith for her unwavering support for the entire family.
James Richard Parrett will be dearly missed, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Rising Sun Fire Hall on Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 12:00pm- 4:00pm. Lunch will be provided. Friends and family are invited to join in honoring his memory and celebrating his life.
