Help us celebrate James! Please share your stories and photos, and invite others who remember James.
O.J. Olchaskey of Suwanee, Georgia, formerly of Manchester, New Jersey, passed away early Christmas morning after a hard fought battle with stomach cancer. He is predeceased by his mother, Dorothy, his father Sonny, his father-in-law, Raymond Amico and his dogs, Freddie and Murray. O.J. worked for the last five years at Academy Sports + Outdoors. Prior to that, he was the proprietor of O.J. Olchaskey's Pro Shops at Howell Lanes and Carolier Lanes. He was one of the country's premier ball drillers. O.J. was a member of both the Middlesex County and New Jersey State Bowling Halls of Fame. He also had multiple state and county titles, high average awards and 300 and 800 series. O.J. was loved by everyone that knew him. The teenagers in the bowling center loved to listen to his stories while he drilled their bowling balls and strove to be like O.J. He was a fierce competitor on the lanes, and his closest friends were his toughest competition But O.J.'s greatest accomplishment in life was his daughter, Kiley Amico Olchaskey, and his wife of 30 years, Angela Amico Olchaskey. His love for Kiley and Angela knew no bounds. O.J. was their biggest cheerleader and he lived every minute of his life for them. He was the heart and soul of their family and that void will never be filled. He also leaves behind their polar bear of a dog, Percival Castiel, Duke of Suwanee. Services will be on Saturday, January 2, 2020 at 1:00PM at Wages & Sons Funeral Home, 1031 Lawrenceville Highway Lawrenceville, GA 30046. In the spring of 2021, there will be a charity bowling tournament in New Jersey to celebrate O.J.'s life. This celebration will benefit Ballard vs. The Big C., a 501C3 organization founded by our friends, Del and Carolyn Ballard. Over the past 6 years they have provided financial assistance to charities totaling more than $265,000 that help to support many wonderful organizations, as well as cancer research. Angela and Kiley ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent in memory of O.J. to Ballard vs. The Big C, 9920 Eddleman Court, Keller, Texas 76244 or on-line at www.ballardvsthebigc.org.
