James "Jim" Novak, 80, of Marietta, entered fully into the presence of our Lord and Savior on April 13, 2021 at Kennestone Hospital. He was loved by family and friends for so many reasons. He adored his wife, Concetta "Connie" Novak for over 56 years and together they had 5 children (Mike married to Stephanie, Jamie, PJ married to April, Susan married to Karl Rubin & Nicole) along with 12 grandchildren (Danielle, Nicole, Mckenzie, Sophia, Jake, Katie, Reece, Joseph, Sarah, Marissa, Jordan and Leah) whom he loved. His love for God, country and service was another one of his greatest accomplishments. He was a true American patriot who served in the US Army for 20 years, proudly serving in the Vietnam War, earning numerous awards then retiring as a Major at the age of 38 years old. He was an active member of The American Legion- Marietta Chapter, The Marietta Lions Club and The Knights of Columbus. He later had several career paths which included professional sales in the communications technology field, launched several business startups then retired one last time as a co-founder of a Cobb County landmark called Triple J's Catering. It brought him great joy serving Cobb County police, fire and medical personnel throughout the years at Triple J's. It is with a joyful heart that a church service will be held in his honoron May 19, 2021 at 3pm at Transfiguration Catholic Church which will also be streamed live at Transfiguration's website. Due to COVID restrictions, a private family patriot celebration and burial will be held at The Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA at a later date. The family request in lieu of flowers to please make a donation in his honor to the Cherokee County Homeless Veterans Program, 160 McClure Street Canton Georgia 30114.
