James "Jim" Ness was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend. He left this world and entered into heaven on March 24, 2022 at age 77. He will be forever remembered by his wife of 28 years, Brenda and their children, Linda and Jessica, son-in-law Jeremy, and grandchildren Ari, Ethan, Lilah and Dexter. Jim will also be remembered by his nieces, Stephanie and Paula, nephew Billy, extended family and his friends.
Jim was born on the Fourth of July, 1944 in Brooklyn, New York. His mother would joyfully exclaim that the fireworks were for his birthday each year. Jim later moved to Chicago and grew up to be a hardworking business owner, a loving husband, a positive and proud father, and a man of strong faith. He was a family-man first and an authentic and caring friend whom everyone immediately liked. He loved spending quality time with his family and friends and his furry companion, Clarence. He loved golfing, scuba diving and his home in The Villages. He used to say every day, "It's another wonderful day in The Villages!"
A catholic funeral mass will be celebrated in memory of Jim on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 8:30 a.m., at St. Timothy's Catholic Church followed by a memorial gathering of family and friends at the Saddlebrook Recreation Center in the Silver Oaks room from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Memorial donations in memory of James Ness may be made to the fundraiser in his name at the Autism Society of America at https://autismsociety.org/donate/, a cause that is deeply meaningful to James and his family.
