WALKERTON - James D. Martin of Walkerton passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at the Center for Hospice, Raclin House following an illness. He was born on September 6, 1939 in Walkerton to the late James I. and Marjorie (Davis) Martin and was 82 years-old at the time of his death.
He lived in the Walkerton area his entire life and was a retired Sheet Metal Worker with Sheet Metal Workers Local #20 as well as a Farmer. On April 23, 1960 in Walkerton, he married the love of his life Judy Malstaff who survives. James was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Walkerton. Gardening was his passion and therapy for over 55 years. He enjoyed fishing and Notre Dame Football. Most of all he was fun to be around, always cracking jokes and having a fun time.
James is survived by his loving wife Judy of Walkerton; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Margaret Gilmer and Norma Feitz.
Visiting hours will be from 5:00 to 7:00 EDT Tuesday, October 26, 2021 and 10:00 to 10:30 AM EDT Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at the Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM EDT Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Walkerton. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton.
