James A. Lowe, 77, of Happy Valley Rd., Verona, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at his home.
He was born on September 15, 1947, in Patterson, NJ, the son of Donald and E. Jean (Cole) Lowe. He was a 1964 graduate of Monroe High School.
Jim proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force until his honorable discharge.
On September 21, 1968, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Leatha J. Webb. He was faithfully devoted to her until her passing on October 24, 2018.
Jim served as a service manager for many area car dealerships, including Carbone Pontiac, retiring in 2015.
He was a member of the Redeemer Church in Utica. He was a former pilot and flew model airplanes for many years. He raced motorcycles and enjoyed sport cars especially Ford Mustangs. He also enjoyed tractors whether they were old or new.
Surviving are his siblings, Barbara Lowe, of Cape Cod, David (Laura) Lowe, of ME, Kathy Lowe, of NH, Richard Lowe and Tim Lowe, both of Cape Cod; Leatha's siblings, Larry (Donna) Webb, of Oriskany Falls, Steven Webb, of Tavanier, FL, George Webb, of Oneida, and Susan (Robert) Garramone, of Westfield, IN; Leatha's aunts, Leona Oakes, of Brasher Falls, and Mary (Wayne) Ashley, of Massena. Jim was predeceased by his wife, his parents, and his brother, Stephen Lowe.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 1:30 PM at the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc., 342 Main St., Oneida. Interment with Military Honors will take place in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Churchville. Family and friends are invited and may call on Friday prior to the service from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the funeral home.
