James Howard Loadman, lived a joyous, spirited life, and departed this world with the love and well wishes of family and friends on August 11, 2024, at the age of 74. Jim was born in Pittsburgh, PA to Betty and Howard Loadman, the second eldest of five children. He spent his youth serving as an altar boy in the Catholic Church, practicing gymnastics, playing the French horn, golfing, and earning his Eagle Scout designation. He received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University and his master's degree from Thunderbird Graduate School of International Management, Phoenix, AZ. His career included management positions in San Francisco, Houston, Atlanta, London, England, and Tehran, Iran. After moving back to the U.S., he resided in Sarasota, FL and joined his father in residential real estate development and sales, managed a dental practice and an internal medicine practice, and retired from a large group health insurance sales position. Once retired, his love of golf led him to become a caddy in Sarasota, Stuart, and St. Simons Island, FL, and Banner Elk, NC. He also managed commercial wine sales for a vineyard/producer in North Carolina. His charitable interests included deliveries for Meals on Wheels and projects with Habitat for Humanity. He and his wife of 52 years, Cindy, were members at Laurel Oak Country Club in Sarasota, FL and Linville Ridge Golf and Country Club in Linville, NC. When his health forced him to curtail his favorite hobby, he worked part time at the golf shop at Sugar Mountain Golf Course in North Carolina.
Jim was a treasured husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, golf partner, and friend, and he will be dearly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Betty Loadman, and his sister Christine Zendt. He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy, his children Jennifer Falkner (Nick) and Matthew, his siblings, Beth, Jeff (Diane), and Tim, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at the Loadman home at Linville Ridge, Linville, NC. An additional celebration is planned in Florida after the holidays.
