James W. (Shakey) LaClair Sr.
Lupton, Michigan
Mr. LaClair 76 passed away on Saturday June 4, 2022, at Horizon of West Branch with his family at his side following a courageous fight with dementia. He was born in Omer, Michigan on November 26, 1945 to the late Omar & Jane (Henderson) LaClair. He married the former Roxanne Malow on October 1, 1991 in Bay City, she survives him. Jimretired from General Motors Flint-Buick Motors in 1996 after 31 and a half years of service. He then moved to Lupton to enjoy the relaxation of hunting & fishing. He had a lifetime pleasure riding motorcycles and fast cars. His later years were collecting rocks / gems polishing them and gifting to family and friends. Also, he enjoyed collecting Chinese art work
Surviving besides his wife are his children James Jr. & Ann Marie LaClair and Tracy & David Oliver; grand children Christiana & Bradley, Matthew & Ashley, Shane, MacKenzie & Adam, Steven, Garrett, Bryon& Jessica, Great Grandchildren Cameron, Hunter, Michael, Brianna, McKenna, Luna and Nikolas; his siblings that knew him as Jamie, Edmond & Kathy LaClair, Jean LaClair and a sister-in-law Margaret LaClair. He was preceded in death by his first wife Sandra LaClair, brothers Donald LaClair and Keith LaClair and his cats Tigger and Nikki.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 8, 2022, at 4 pm at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-STANDISH CHAPEL with Rev. Fr. Ronald Wagner presiding. Inurnment to follow at Pine River Cemetery, Family will greet family and friends on Wednesday from 1 to 4 pm. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Dementia Foundation.
