My great grandfather James L. Tucker was born on February 7, 1837, just a few days over 100 years before I was born in 1937, we both were born in Hardin County, Tennessee. He was born on a Tuesday and I was born on a Monday. James Leek Tucker was the son of Erasmus R. & Teresa (Carson) Tucker. He married Frances Jane Long October 31, 1861 [Halloween] [Thursday] in the Nixon Community of Hardin County, Tennessee.
James Leek Tucker was in the 10th Infantry, Company F, in the Union Army and served as a First Lieutenant in the Union Forces. He served from May 06, 1862 until he was discharged following and injury to his right ankle that rendered him totally disable. He was under the command of Captain Clinton, (Robert H.).
