PLYMOUTH - James Ross Klinedinst of Plymouth passed away Monday, February 8, 2021 in
St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka following an illness. He was born on January
1, 1956 in Plymouth to Ross Eugene Klinedinst and Shirley (Helsel) Barber and was 65 yearsold at the time of his death.
Jim lived in the area his entire life and retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad after 41 1/2
years of faithful service as a heavy equipment operator. On March 23, 1974 he married the love
of his life, Jean Ruiter in Plymouth. He was an avid outdoorsman who especially loved fishing
and hunting. Jim also enjoyed traveling and spent the last three years wintering in Mississippi.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Jean of Plymouth; one daughter Jessica Norris (Phil Slabaugh)
of Argos; two grandchildren Nathan Norris Jr. and Sarah Norris both of Argos; his mother
Shirley Barber of California; three brothers John Klinedinst of Plymouth, Joe Baughman of
Argos, and Jay Baughman of Rochester; and two sisters Chris Lentner of Argos and Nena Ellis
of Pennsylvania. He is preceded in death by his father Ross Eugene and one sister Lucinda
Knowlton.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 EST Saturday, February 13 at the Rannells Funeral Home,
Koontz Lake Chapel. Visiting hours will also be on Saturday from 11:00 to 1:00 EST Saturday
at the funeral home. Due to the Covid-19 state and local mandates face coverings must be worn
inside at all times and occupancy inside the funeral home is limited to 50.
