James Delyle Johnson passed away at home early Wednesday morning September 25th, 2013 after a brief but valiant battle with cancer, he was surrounded by his family. Delyle was born on November 24, 1957 in Taber, Alberta, Canada to James Beverly and Virginia (Smith) Johnson. He spent the majority of his childhood in Barnwell, Alberta, Canada. After serving a mission in Sacramento, California, he attended Brigham Young University and earned his B.A. degree in Computer Science. While working at Novell he met and married his wonderful wife Shauri Nielsen. They had two energetic and talented boys, Benjamin and Graeme, and then awhile later they were joined by a sweet and beautiful little girl, Jackie. Delyle spent many years serving in the Scouting program and loved it. He was always ready to help out and serve others. He is survived by his wife Shauri and his son Benjamin (Chelsea) of Cedar City, Utah, son Graeme, and daughter Jackie of Orem, Utah. He is also survived by his parents, Bev and Virginia Smith Johnson of Barnwell, Alberta, his siblings, Camilla (Brian) Phillips of Barnwell, Alberta, Valerie (Ray) Goodwin of Littleton, Colorado, Marilee (Wilford) Ching of Laie, Hawaii, Larry (Melanie) Johnson of Saratoga Springs, Utah, Larita (Jeff) Barfuss of Airdrie, Alberta, and Darla (Scott) Brandley of Ogden, Utah, 27 nieces and nephews, as well as Shauri’s loving family. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 30th, at 11:00 am, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 545 S. 800 E. Orem, Utah. The family will be available for people who wish to pay their respects from 9:00 to 10:30 am. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
