James "Jim" E. Jewell, 79, formerly of Loudon, died on January 4, 2021 at Merrimack County Nursing Home after a period of declining health.
Jim was born August 7, 1941 in Concord, NH, and graduated from Concord High School in 1959. Jim worked for the United States Postal Service (USPS) for over 40 years as a letter carrier. Jim was also employed at Concord Dairy and New Hampshire Hospital prior to his employment with the USPS.
Jim was a kind, quiet and simple man who was always there to help his family, his friends, his neighbors, and anyone in need. Jim accepted everyone and did not judge anyone. Jim also knew the secret to a good marriage ... two words he spoke often "yes, Dear." Jim loved spending time with his family, traveling with his wife, listening to music, playing games, being with his dogs (Parker and Snickers), birdwatching, sports as well as collecting baseball cards and sports memorabilia.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Beverly Jewell; his son, Christopher Jewell and (Taryn); his stepdaughters, Deborah Gardner (Chris) and Karen Benincasa (Chris); his brother, Robert Jewell (Marilyn); as well as 10 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. Jim was predeceased by his previous wife, Barbara Jewell; his parents, Richard Jewell, Sr., and Mabel Woods; and his brother, Richard Jewell, Jr.
The family extends its heartfelt appreciation to those who provided compassionate and exceptional care to Jim and his family at the Merrimack County Nursing Home.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the memorial service and interment at Blossom Hill Cemetery in Concord, NH, will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Jim's memory with a donation to the charity of your choice.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Bennett Funeral Home of Concord. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.BennettFuneral.com for the Jewell Family.
