It is with great sadness that the family of James Ray Hebert, 88, of Santa Fe, TX, shares the news of his passing on Sat, July 19, 2025.
While heartbroken by their loss, his family finds comfort in knowing he is no longer in pain. James passed away peacefully at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX shortly after receiving his cancer diagnosis.
He was a BOI, born (at home) on Jan 2, 1937, in Galveston, TX, to Felix and Sue (Williams) Hebert. A proud veteran of the United States Army, he served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After completion of Basic Training at Fort Hood, TX, he deployed to the Panama Canal Zone and was stationed at Fort Kobbe. After his tour was up, James returned stateside and received his Honorable Discharge upon leaving the service to return to civilian life.
