JOSEPH W. JONES FUNERAL HOME
Mr. James Edward Harrell, 83, of Leesburg, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at his home.
Born April 18, 1939, in Mitchell County, Mr. Harrell was the son of the late James Elisha Harrell and Mattie Lou Atkinson Harrell. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, loved God and his family more than anything. He was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church and retired from the City of Albany as a computer network operator.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Harrell was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Reba Self Harrell; his daughter, Pamela Renee Harrell; and his brother, Wallace Harrell.
Survivors include his children, Mike Harrell and his wife, Rhio of Leesburg and Lisa Granberry and her husband, Brian of Leesburg; siblings, Wiley, Irvin, Larry, and Charlotte; 8 grandchildren, Jamie, Jennifer, Kayla, Brandon, Michael, Cailee, Lyka, and Mika; 6 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2022, at Liberty Hill Baptist Church with visitation one hour before the funeral at the church. Rev. David Williams and Rev. Scott Tomlinson will officiate with interment in the Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Military Honors will be presented by The United States Navy and The American Legion.
