James Harless Ratliff, 93, of Waverly, Ohio, passed 9:00 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2022 at his home.
Harless was born March 5, 1929 in Lucasville, Ohio, the son of the late Jacob Ratliff and Nickatie (Looney) Ratliff. On December 3, 1949, he was united in marriage to Dorothy (Locke) Ratliff, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Neal H. (Shirley) Ratliff, daughter, Jamey Ratliff, three grandchildren, Joy (Curtis) Rodgers, Jay (Andra) Meyers and Torie (Talon) Culbertson, seven great-grandchildren, Ashley Buitendorp, Will Buitendorp, Zach Buitendorp, Delaney Meyers, Claire Meyers, Trace Culbertson and Traeh Culbertson, and a sister, Ilene (Don) Burchett.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Deborah, eight brothers, Burnice, Estel, Bascum, Granvel, Tivis, Clermont, Marcus and Joe Ratliff and two sisters, Marie McJunkin and Zelma McNelly.
Harless was a retired machinist for the Department of Energy and a member of Mt Zion Church of Christ in Christian Union. He was a devoted Christian, husband, father and grandfather. He loved flying, working on planes and making baskets.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon. Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at Boyer Funeral Home, Waverly, Ohio with Pastor Dale Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery, Piketon, Ohio.
Family will receive friends 5:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2022 and one hour prior to the service Tuesday.
