James Hale, Sr.

James Hullette Hale, Sr., 85, of Olive Branch, MS, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022. A visitation will be held Sunday, November 6, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m at Broadway Baptist Church (7400 Getwell Rd. Southaven, MS 38672). A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Bethel Cemetery in Etta, MS at a later date. Dr. Mark Livingston will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch is in charge of arrangements.

James was born on July, 4, 1937 in Hurricane, MS. He was a member of Broadway Baptist Church in Southaven, MS. James retired from Roadway Truck Lines and earlier in his life, he served our country in the United States Army Reserves. He enjoyed cattle farming on his ranch near Thaxton, MS. James married the love of his life, Peggy, on Christmas Day and they were together for 65 years. Most of all, he loved his children and spending time with his family. James was loved by many and will be truly missed.

James is survived by his wife, Peggy Russell Hale of Olive Branch, MS; daughter, Laurie Hale of Henderson, NV; son, James H. Hale (Alisa) of Hernando, MS; and brother, Lance Hale (Sue) of Oxford, MS.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Ila Hale; sister, Anna Laura Hale; and brothers, Dwayne Hale, and Johnnie Hale.
