James William "Doc" Graves, Jr., age 73 of Franklin, died Sunday, February 25, 2024 at his residence. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 2pm at White's Chapel Cemetery, 7455 Plano Road, Bowling Green, KY 42104. Military Honors will be conducted by the Simpson County Honor Guard. A native of Logan County Kentucky, he was the son of the late James William "Darty" Graves, Sr. and Lera Faye Trammel Graves. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 2 brothers - Ronald Ray Graves and Danny Dillow, mother and father in law - Cecil and Susie Lillard along with son in law - Jeremy Fields Runions. He was retired from General Motors and Simpson County Schools. He enjoyed hunting and fishing along with farming. He was an Army Veteran serving in Vietnam. Survivors include his wife - Margaret Dianne Lillard Graves of Franklin; son - James Aaron Grave and wife - Patricia Gayle of Franklin; daughter - Barbi Ann Runions of Nashville; three brothers - Ricky Graves and wife Alice, David Graves, and Kenny Graves and wife Ruth; 1 sister - Tracie Holmstedt and husband Jim; grandchildren - James Mason Graves, Autumn Renee Graves and Matthew Aaron Graves; several nieces and nephews.
