James Evan Gober, age 27, of Cedartown, GA, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025.
Evan was born in Fairfax, VA, on September 17, 1998, son of Mrs. Tammie Swegar Braden and Mr. Kevin Gober. He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Biddy Hill Braden. Evan was a 2017 graduate of Darlington School. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved hunting and fishing. Evan enjoyed perfecting his bushcraft survival skills and identifying different species of birds. He could often be found walking (preferably without shoes) and looking for arrowheads on the family farm. Evan enjoyed jiu jitsu, target practice with his bow, and playing his guitar. He was a loyal friend and loved his family above all else. Evan's legacy will carry on in the hearts and minds of all who knew him, and he is now in the presence of God for eternity.
Survivors include his parents, Tammie Braden (Doug), Inlet Beach, FL, and Kevin Gober (Ayn), Cedartown, GA; four siblings, Luke Gober, Biddy Braden (Emily), Annabelle Braden (Tate Ratledge), and Georgia Grace Braden; grandparents, Jackie and James Swegar, Judy and Lanny Gober, and Mrs. Norma Braden; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins whom he loved dearly.
In accordance with his wishes, Evan will be cremated and a Celebration of his life will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, November 28, 2025, in the Morris Chapel at Darlington School. The Reverend Dr. Bill Pardue will officiate the service and eulogies will be delivered by Mr. Owen Kinney, Mr. Doug Braden, and Evan's brother, Luke Gober.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm pm until 2:45pm at the Home on the Hill on the Darlington School Campus.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to Darlington School, 1014 Cave Spring Rd. Rome, GA 30161.
