James Bradley Fritton, 67, Lawrence, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes, Tuesday, May 24, 2022.
Jim was born January 10, 1955, in Topeka, Kansas to Francis Leo and Dorothy Casson Fritton. He graduated from Hayden High School in 1973 and Washburn University in 1977 with a degree in business and finance. He had been a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.
Jim was an auditor for the Kansas State Department of Education and was highly respected by his colleagues and the school district personnel he worked with over the decades. He was honored in 2019 in a ceremony at the Kansas state capitol for his 40 years of service.
Jim was a gentle and kind man. He loved to travel and enjoyed trying new restaurants. One of his passions was walking and hiking, and especially loved hiking trails in the Rocky Mountains.
Survivors are Jim's sisters, Mary Murrow, Wichita and Margaret Bideau, Clay Center; brother-in-law, Francis Habiger, Hutchinson; as well as many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Nancy Habiger and Linda Fritton and brothers-in-law, Michael Murrow and Edwin Bideau.
Visitation will be Monday, June 6, from 10:30 until 11 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5973 SW 25th St, Topeka KS 66614, where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Inurnment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
