Jim was born to Delson I. Forrer and Evelyn F. (Tracy) Forrer in Dalton, Ohio. After graduating from his Dalton class of '57, Jim proudly served in the U.S.A.F. from 1962 until 1966, being stationed in Vale, Oregon and Wilder, Idaho as a radar technician for SAC (Strategic Air Command).
After military service, he had a varied working career in meat cutting, maintenance for electronic food sorting equipment, home building and his fencing business (A-4 Fence).
He loved to write stories of all kinds and wrote about his adventures on the job and in his life. Several of his stories were published by World Fence News and the Dalton Gazette. He loved to make canes, and took great pride in the craft. The man could fix anything and had a great sense of humor. He was a stanch republican, attending many local republican party gatherings.
Jim is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia, daughter Shari Nielsen (Tim) of Caldwell, Son Mark Forrer (Heidi) of Seattle, Wa., and son Antony Forrer (Ilona) of Nampa. One grandson Colin Forrer of Seattle. Two sisters, Linda Powers Moore (Bob) of Caldwell, and Karen Watson of Ashland, Ohio.
A special thank you to the compassionate doctors, nurses and staff at Caldwell Oncology. They helped Jim put up the good fight.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
"The clock of life is wound but once, and no man has the power to tell just when the clock will stop. At an early or late hour. Now is the only time we own. Let us live, love and toil with a will. Let us place no trust in tomorrow, for the clock may then be still." -Bart Scalzi-
