James Ferguson
Jim Ferguson of Leesburg Florida passed away on June 4th while visiting family in North Carolina.
Jim and Joan were true soulmates for 50 years who enjoyed their retirement together socializing and hosting gourmet dinner club events with friends, vacationing in their RV and on cruise ships in the Caribbean, golfing, gardening, darting and being with their children and grandchildren.
A true patriot and proud veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1968. Jim continued to serve his country as an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Jim retired from a long career with the National Security Agency as an Analyst with 30 years of service including 12 years living abroad with his family stationed at Menwith Hill Royal Air Force Station.
Jim was a kind and gentle man who had many friends and who was involved in many activities. An avid fisherman, each year he enjoyed retreating to the secluded Poe Paddy State Park in Pennsylvania spending time fly-fishing on Penns Creek and socializing with close friends. Jim was also a great pool player, regularly playing in many pool leagues over decades. The highlight of his pool playing was being able to participate in the national championship pool tournament in Las Vegas Nevada in 2013 as a member of his pool team from Leesburg.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Joan, his daughter Kim and her husband Dan from Annapolis Maryland, his son John and his wife Sherri from Creedmoor North Carolina and two grandchildren, Ian and Reikr.
