James Edward Eichelberger, 53, of Delmar passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024 at his home. Born in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of Eldon Eichelberger, of Sharpsburg, and Joan (Slayman) Bradford, of Hagerstown.
Following high school, James went to honorably serve our country in the Marines. The only thing he was more proud of than being a Marine, was being a dad. His favorite memories included watching his son wrestle in 3 state tournaments and watching his daughter receive her master's degree. The arrival of his granddaughter, Hallie J, brought him so much joy. He was thrilled to be her Pop-Pop. James was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He also loved learning about history and watching hummingbirds.
In addition to his parents, Jim is survived by his son, James E. Eichelberger, II, daughter, Alexis R. Laws and her husband, Michael, of Salisbury, and granddaughter, Hallie J. He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Ann Armstead and his beloved dog, Taz.
A memorial service with military honors will be held at a later date.
