Mr. James D. (Jimmy) Durham, age 76, of Smyrna, passed away August 4, 2020. He graduated from Southwest High School in Atlanta in 1964 and afterward joined the U. S. Air Force in 1966. He served in Thailand during the Viet Nam Era. After returning he was a Smyrna Police Officer for 10 years and afterward he worked at American Corvette doing paint and body. He then worked at Earl Small Harley Davidson and then he was hired at Harley Davidson of Atlanta where he worked as a Motorcycle Technician and Custom Bike Builder for over 10 years. He later retired from Cobb County School System Transportation Division. He was a proud and loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survived by his wife of 53 years, Rene Durham; daughter, Monica L. Durham; grandchildren, Kayla A. Haney, Brandon J. Butler; sister, Henrietta Gillespie; brother, Paul Durham; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday August 8 at 12 Noon in the chapel of Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home with Pastor Dwight Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends between the hours of 10 AM until 12 Noon at the funeral home.
