James Eugene Dorman, 20, of Boonville passed away unexpectedly Monday, July 11, 2022. James was born June 4, 2002 in Columbia, Missouri, the son of Amy Dawkins and David Dorman.
Growing up in Sturgeon with his mom, James enjoyed his homemade bow and arrow, doing art, and being on the farm. Also, growing up in Boonville with his dad he loved to ride his bike. James was very creative with his hands and enjoyed making origami, duct tape wallets and various paracord items. He was very artistic, he would amaze people with his card and magic tricks. James attended Boonville Schools and graduated with the Boonville High School Class of 2020. James played football in high school and also started Hockey with the Twisters Hockey League and went on to join the Mid- Missouri Tigers Hockey Team in Jefferson City. James enjoyed roller skating, rollerblading and was called a prodigy snow skier on his first trip to Colorado with his Aunts Julie and Darcy. James loved to go camping, fishing, and hanging out with his friends. He especially loved to watch the sun set and gaze at the stars at look out point or other conservation areas. He loved music and played the guitar, piano, harmonica and ukulele. James loved everyone and would help anyone he could, and put others needs above his own. James enjoyed hugs from his dogs Willow, Beaufort, and Oliver and especially the neighborhood cat, Bob, he called his own. James’ fun, loving spirit and contagious smile will be forever missed.
James is preceded in death by his grandparents Carol and Gene Dawkins. He is survived by his father David Dorman and mother Amy Dawkins (Chris McNeeley), grandparents DeDe Gross and Darrel (Marion) Dorman, aunts Julie (Clabe) Dougherty, Darcy Dawkins, and Vanessa Dorman, uncles Troy (Susan) Dawkins, Mark Dorman, Todd Dorman (Victoria Crane) and numerous cousins and friends.
Visitation for James will be held at Howard Funeral Home Monday, July 18, 2022, from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Tim Fairley officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery in Renick, Missouri.
