James Francis (Jim) D'Orsi, President of Consolidated Supermarkets, Union, NJ and Real Estate Entrepreneur, died on July 31, 2021 in Naples, FL with his wife, Karen, by his side. He was 85 years old. Predeceased by his parents, Gennaro and Almeda (Minucci) D'Orsi, Jim is survived by his loving wife of nearly 25 years, Karen, his brother, Joseph D'Orsi (Lorri) of Long Beach Island NJ, his daughter Laura D'Orsi Bauman (David), his sons Christopher D'Orsi (Cathy Butler) of Mountainside, NJ and Jonathan D'Orsi (Tara Dillon) of Middletown NJ and his six grandchildren: Nicholas, Grant, Alexandra, Drew, Ryan and Hope. Born in 1935, in Long Branch, NJ, Jim got his start in the food business as a young man delivering baked goods from the family bakery in Port Reading, NJ. This early experience and the love for the people he met, led him to a long and very successful career as a respected business leader in the food industry and related real estate activities. Jim graduated from Woodbridge High School, Woodbridge NJ, class of 1953, and attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. Eventually, he moved to Spring Lake, NJ, where he lived for 20 years, continuing to grow the business he had started. Jim retained a love for the Jersey shore throughout his life. Jim loved Florida and as a "snowbird" for many years, decided to become a resident several years ago. Also, during his retirement, he was an active member of the Italian American Club in Ocean, NJ where he played bocce with friends, volunteered and attended many social functions. He was always on a search domestically and internationally for the "best" pizza. An avid reader, Jim was a loyal fan of the NY Jets and Giants and frequently attended football games with his wife and family. He also loved to ski, and nothing made him happier than spending time on the Colorado slopes. Jim was a member of St. Catharine Catholic Church in Spring Lake, NJ and St. Agnes Catholic Church in Naples, FL.
