James Edward Croy, 74, of Acworth, GA, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2021. A memorial service with military honors will be held at Marietta Funeral Home on Saturday, March 6 at 4:00pm. A live stream of the service will be viewable on the Marietta Funeral Home Facebook page.
James was a selfless man who would always put others before himself. He served in the Marines after graduating from Sprayberry High School in 1964 and did two tours in Vietnam. He was a dedicated worker for his entire career (which lasted up until a month before his passing), and when he was not working, you could find him in a garage working on a friend or family members car. In the 70's, he was a member of the motorcycle club, the Righteous Riders. James was a member of Noonday Baptist Church. He was an extremely supportive father and brother who was always proud of his family members accomplishments.
James is survived by his sons: David (Claudia) Roper and Grant Croy; sister, Arlene Thornton; grandson, Darrion Hunnicutt; and several nieces and nephews.
