Tom Cosby, Jr. Husband of Joyce Father of Charley and Ken
James Thomas Cosby, Jr. age 86, born in Cairo, Georgia passed away on November 1, 2018. He was the son of James Thomas Cosby and Eula Clarissa Todd. He graduated from Seneca high school in 1951, where he also played on the basketball team. He was a member of Seneca Presbyterian Church. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1951 and served on the USS Henderson and the USS New Jersey. He attended ship reunions for both ships in the years following his service. He attended Piedmont College in Demorest, Georgia and majored in History and Elementary Education. He worked for the Centers for Disease Control and retired from the Muscogee County Health Department. In retirement, he had set and completed the goal to visit all 50 states. He married Emma Joyce Aderhold in Cataula, Georgia. Tom coached Little League baseball and was a scout leader. He is survived by his loving wife Joyce Cosby, sons Charley (Terri) Cosby and Ken Cosby as well as his sister Eula Cosby Coffey and nieces Kathryn Coffey Craighead and Carol Coffey Burns. He was an avid sports fan and a diehard Clemson fan. He was a member of Morningside Presbyterian Church in Columbus, Georgia. A memorial service will be held, Saturday, November 10, 2018, 11:00 am at Morningside Presbyterian Church, In Columbus, Georgia.
