James Caddell, 70, of Ralls went to be with Jesus on December 24, 2020. He was born March 15, 1950, in Crosby County, and lived in Caprock his entire life. He married his high school sweetheart, Tretha Danner, on March 26, 1970, in Ralls. He served as a deacon at First Baptist Church Ralls, where he enjoyed teaching Sunday school. He also served on the Ralls ISD School Board, the Plains Baptist Assembly Camp board, and as Crosby County Commissioner for Prec. 4. He loved farming, ranching, and working on old pickups.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Delton and Wanda Ruth Caddell, his sister and brother-in-law, Kenny & Barbara Adams, and brother-in-law, John Hutchison. He is survived by his wife, Tretha, and their three children and five grandchildren, Danny & Amy Caddell (Dylan & Lexi,) Joey Caddell, and Eric & Suzy Byrd (Joley, Craig, & Chance,) and his sister and brother-in-law, Don & Brenda Crump, all of Crosby County, as well as his sisters-in-law, Karla (& Carl) Coffey, of Lubbock and Jo Linda Hutchison, of Dripping Springs.
Services will be held Monday, December 28, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Ralls with Bros. TJ Messer and Adam Harris officiating followed by burial at Ralls Cemetery. The family respectfully asks that Covid19 guidelines be followed. They would like to thank friends and special caregivers, Carey Garcia & family, and Kindred Hospice.
